In Khulna, the son was arrested on the charge of beating his mother to death for drug money

In Rupsa upazila of Khulna, a complaint has been filed against the son of beating his mother to death for drug money. The woman was murdered in Khan Mohammadpur village of Aichgati union of the upazila around 8:30 am today. The accused son Nadeem Islam (30) has been arrested by the police.

The deceased Mimmi Begum (50) is the wife of Hamidul Islam, a resident of that village. According to family and local sources, Nadeem was addicted to drugs for a long time and often asked for money from his mother. At around eight o’clock this morning, Nesha had an argument with her mother demanding money. At one point he hit the mother on the head with a tree branch. Mimmi Begum fell down on the spot with serious injuries and died there.

Officer-in-charge of Rupsa police station Abdur Razzak Mir said, initially it was known that the son beat his mother to death without getting the drug money. The accused person has been arrested. Preparations are underway to send the dead body to Khulna Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
