Government reshuffles top bureaucratic posts with three secretary-level appointments

The government has announced a reshuffle of three senior secretaries, marking the latest round of administrative changes in the civil service.
Rafiqul I Mohammad, who had been transferred to the Public Division of the President’s Office only 11 days ago, has been reassigned as the Secretary of the Rural Development and Co-operatives Division. Mohammad is currently serving on a contractual basis.
As part of the same directive, Mohat Shawkat Rashid Chowdhury, the outgoing Secretary of the Rural Development and Co-operatives Division, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Land Reform Board, holding the rank of secretary.
Meanwhile, AJM Salahuddin Nagari, the former Chairman of the Land Reform Board, has been moved to the Public Division of the President’s Office to serve as its Secretary.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications regarding these appointments on Friday, despite the day being a public holiday.
These changes follow a previous round of bureaucratic restructuring on August 10. During that period, the government appointed Md. Selim Khan as the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture following his promotion from the role of Additional Secretary. Concurrently, Khan Md. Nurul Amin, the former Secretary of the Public Division of the President’s Office, was attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.
