Chittagong Authorities Plan Evictions to Prevent Illegal Settlements and Hill Cutting in Boroitoli

Authorities in Chittagong have launched a crackdown on illegal land grabbing and unauthorized hillside excavation in the Boroitoli area of South Pahartali. The region is witnessing a surge in illegal settlements and the unlawful transfer of government-owned land, mirroring a situation previously seen in the Jungle Salimpur area of Sitakunda.
Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Jahidul Islam Mian declared that the administration will not tolerate the development of another settlement akin to Jungle Salimpur. He stated that the government is prepared to conduct immediate operations to evict illegal occupants and restore state-owned land.
Officials reported that perpetrators have been actively clearing hills and partitioning plots for illicit sale and residential use. The district administration has vowed to take strict legal action to halt the destruction of the landscape and ensure the recovery of public territory.
