BGB Blocks BSF Attempt to Push Nine Individuals Across Naogaon Border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) successfully blocked an attempt by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel to push nine individuals across the Sapahar border in Naogaon early Wednesday morning.
The group, consisting of three men, three women, and three children, was intercepted by BSF troops from the Elenpur camp around 4:00 a.m. as they attempted to cross into Bangladesh via the Adatala border outpost. Upon receiving reports of the intrusion, a BGB patrol team was immediately dispatched to the site, where they halted the movement. The individuals remain stranded in the no-man’s-land between the two countries.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Arif-ul-Islam Masum, commander of the BGB’s 16th Battalion in Naogaon, confirmed the incident and stated that additional troops have been deployed to the area to maintain control and ensure no unauthorized entry occurs.
This event marks the latest in a series of similar incidents along the Naogaon border. On June 5 and June 8, BSF forces attempted to push 40 people into Bangladesh through the Porsha and Sapahar borders. In those instances, BGB personnel and local residents maintained a vigilant presence, eventually compelling the Indian border guards to withdraw the individuals.
