Allegation of gang rape of school girl in Chittagong, arrest 4

An allegation of gang rape of a school girl studying in class 9 in Satkania of Chittagong has been made. The police arrested four people from different areas of the upazila following the case on Wednesday night. Earlier, the rape incident took place in the hilly area of the upazila yesterday afternoon.
According to the police and case report, yesterday afternoon, the ninth grade student along with another girl went for a walk in the hilly area near the house. On their way back from there seven workers of a fish farm blocked their way. They forcibly took the two to the hilly area. After that, the ninth grade student took the girl to Gahin Hill and raped her in turn. At the time of the incident, the girl who was with the student was kept at one end of the hill. He was also accused of molestation.
According to the police, after this incident, the schoolgirl’s father became a plaintiff and filed a case with the Satkania police station under the Prevention of Women and Child Abuse Act, mentioning the names of 7 people. The police arrested four of the accused in a raid. One of them is 16 years old. The remaining three are Md. Rakib (20), Md. Manik Islam (20) and Abdur Rahim (19).
Chittagong District Police Additional Superintendent of Police (Satkania Circle) Ariful Islam Siddiqui told Prothom Alo that four people involved in the incident were arrested after receiving the information. The arrested persons initially admitted their involvement. An operation is underway to arrest the remaining three people involved in this incident.
