Air Force officer sought for arrest in connection to 2012 disappearance of BNP leader Ilias Ali

The Chief Prosecutor’s office at the International Crimes Tribunal has formally requested that Wing Commander Saiful Rahman be arrested in connection with the 2012 disappearance of BNP leader Ilias Ali.

Chief Prosecutor Md. Aminul Islam confirmed the development on Thursday, stating that the petition was filed with the tribunal following evidence suggesting the officer’s involvement in the case.

Ilias Ali, a prominent figure in the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, vanished from the capital’s Banani area on April 17, 2012. The move by the prosecution marks a significant step in the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the high-profile disappearance.
