After killing a man named Zia Uddin Sardar (45) in Chandrapur area of ​​Shariatpur Sadar Upazila, his wife dismembered his body and dumped it in a river and pond, police said. Wife Asma Akhtar was detained and interrogated by the police on Friday night and got this information.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shariatpur Sadar’s Palong Model Police Station Shah Alam told Prothom Alo that Asma killed her husband last Tuesday by cutting the arms and legs from the body and separating the flesh. Some of it he threw in the Padma river, some in a roadside pond. Some parts were filled in a drum and kept in the refrigerator of another house. Local people called the national emergency service number 999 due to the stench. When he was interrogated, he confessed everything. Later, based on the information given by him, the bones along with the head were recovered from a boat. The knife and iron rod used in the murder have been recovered. The incident is under investigation, legal action is pending.

Zia Uddin is the son of Abdur Razzak Sardar of South Mahmudpur area of ​​Sadar Upazila. He was from Malaysia. He got married to Asma eight years ago. Police claimed that Asma killed her husband due to a family dispute.

According to Palong Model Police Station sources, Asma Akhter, a girl from Pirojpur, met Zia over the phone in 2018. They were both married then. Both had two children in their family. In that situation, Zia and Asma left the previous family and started a new family. Zia returned to Bangladesh from Malaysia in May last year. After that, they started quarreling and quarreling about various issues.

Shahadat Hossain, cousin of deceased Zia, said, “My brother’s wife did not keep in touch with our family. After returning to the country last year, my brother was living in a rented house in our neighboring village. There was such a preparation that the brother would return to Malaysia after Eid al-Adha. Bhabhi killed his brother before that. I don’t understand why he did that.
