He claimed that after leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joining the Trinamool Congress, he received many taunts from his former party. Despite denying everything, he received threats of rape.

Rupanjana said, “I have strengthened my place in the industry by working tirelessly for 25 years. I have made a name for myself as a successful woman. Above all I am a woman. And how is it possible for the BJP to make such distasteful comments towards a woman? It doesn’t make sense.’

Addressing the BJP, Rupanjana said, “Don’t come to scare the true Bengalis.” You rape with your eyes. Then he talks about rape like shameless. Talks about women protection while threatening to rape a woman on social media. The language he uses, the indecent abuse he uses shows what the consequences will be if he comes to power.

Referring to Kangana and Mandakini, Rupanjana said, ‘It is nothing but the gangster culture of BJP. Again, if you dare, come forward and threaten. Will never allow West Bengal to become Uttar Pradesh, Manipur or Gujarat.’
