Runa Laila gets ‘Minar-e-Delhi’ award

Bangladesh’s legendary singer Runa Laila has been honored with India’s prestigious ‘Minar-e-Delhi’ award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to music. The award will be presented to him at the 15th Delhi International Film Festival. This matter has been confirmed by the singer himself. 

Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts under the Ministry of Culture in New Delhi, India and Dr. The festival will be held at Ambedkar International Centre.

Earlier, Indian actress-dancer Zohra Sehgal (2012), former Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena (2015) and Russian actress Senia Rebeccana (2016) from Mera Naam Joker received the ‘Minar-e-Delhi’ award.

This event will be held from May 4 to May 8. Ram Kishore Parcha, founder and president of the festival recently sent a letter to Runa Laila.

Meanwhile, regarding the ‘Minar-e-Delhi’ award, Runa Laila said in a video message on social media, “Many thanks to the Delhi International Film Festival authorities for the invitation to award the prestigious ‘Miner-e-Delhi’ award.” Waiting for it, see you. 

This year’s event will focus on women empowerment, social and children’s films and encouraging women filmmakers.

Famous stars and producers of the subcontinent including Sharmila Tagore, Rituparna Sengupta, Revathi, Shweta Menon, Usha Uthup, Rajpal Yadav and Raghubir Yadav will participate in the festival.
