Investors Sue Selena Gomez Over Alleged Fraud Involving Mental Health Startup Wondermind Global

A group of investors has filed a lawsuit against American singer and actress Selena Gomez, accusing her and the leadership of her mental health startup of breach of contract and fraud. The complaint, filed in a Delaware federal court, alleges that the defendants failed to fulfill promises regarding the development and promotion of their company.

The investors invested approximately 1.2 million U.S. dollars into the startup, WonderMind Global, which was established in 2021 with a mission to raise mental health awareness. According to court documents, the plaintiffs claim that Gomez, despite leveraging her massive social media following of over 500 million to solicit investment, failed to act as an effective marketing lead as promised.

The lawsuit further contends that Gomez and her team failed to deliver on contractual obligations to develop a mobile application. The investors allege that Gomez engaged in the startup venture under false pretenses, ultimately ignoring her commitments to the company’s operations.

Beyond the marketing failures, the plaintiffs assert that the company lacked viable business strategies or ethical initiatives. The complaint notes that the startup struggled to meet fundamental financial obligations, including the payment of employee salaries and vendor invoices. Investors claim they were unaware of the internal dysfunction until it was detailed in an online news report in September 2025.

The plaintiffs are seeking full restitution of their initial investment, along with the coverage of all associated legal fees. Representatives for Selena Gomez have not provided an immediate response to the allegations.
