Prothom Alo and UCSI University Award Winners of UCSI Football Master Quiz Competition

Prothom Alo has concluded its “UCSI Football Master” quiz competition, held in conjunction with the FIFA World Cup, by awarding prizes to 20 winners selected through a random draw. The competition, which engaged football enthusiasts across the country, saw approximately 16,000 participants engage with the portal, registering a total of 32,000 quiz attempts and reaching two crore users across digital platforms.
A prize-giving ceremony was held on Sunday at the Prothom Alo office in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka. Six winners attended the event to receive their prizes in person, while the awards for the remaining 14 recipients were dispatched to their respective addresses.
The winners include Shawkat Hossain, Rakesh Ranjan Nag, Md. Sohel Mia, Rafiul Kalim Rifat, Mamun Hossain, Dr. Nikhil Chandra Saha, Fouzia Islam, Sheikh Sufian, Kawsara Begum, and Sajib Barua from Dhaka. The list also features HM Riaz, Joy Chowdhury, Abdul Jabbar Bappi, Rowshan Ara Begum, and Pushpita Pal from Chattogram; Jakir Hossain and Umme Marufa Asha from Narayanganj; Md. Abul Kalam Azad from Brahmanbaria; Md. Ashraful Alam from Chapai Nawabganj; and Nishath Subah Provha from Gazipur.
Prizes were presented by Major (Retd.) Suman Subhan, Provost of the UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus, along with Saiful Islam, Deputy Director of Public Relations at the university. Representing Prothom Alo were Head of Online Shawkat Hossain and Chief Digital Business Officer ABM Javed Sultan.
Major (Retd.) Suman Subhan expressed pride in the partnership, noting that the initiative allowed the university to connect with students interested in pursuing international-standard education locally at their Malaysia-affiliated branch campus. Saiful Islam and Shawkat Hossain echoed these sentiments, expressing hope for continued collaboration between the media house and the university to foster student engagement and educational awareness.
ABM Javed Sultan highlighted that the “UCSI Football Master” quiz added a unique dimension to the World Cup coverage provided by Prothom Alo. Winner Rakesh Ranjan Nag commended the initiative for effectively bridging the gap between sports and education, noting that the participation of a university in a sports quiz helped shift perceptions regarding the two fields.
The event was moderated by Khairul Babui, Assistant General Manager of Digital Content at Prothom Alo. Several other officials from the organization and its partner agency, Media Matra, were also present to mark the conclusion of the campaign.
