Abhijit Chakrabarty wins grand prize in Walton-Prothom Alo World Cup quiz draw

Abhijit Chakraborty from Chattogram has won the grand prize of an air conditioner in the mega draw of the Walton-Prothom Alo 2026 World Cup Football Quiz. The draw took place on Wednesday afternoon at the Prothom Alo office in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka.
The quiz was organized by Prothom Alo and sponsored by the Walton Group to commemorate the recently concluded football World Cup. Participants from across the country submitted their entries by clipping coupons from the newspaper. Four winners were selected from these entries during the mega draw.
Abrar Masud, also from Chattogram, secured the second prize of a refrigerator, while the third prize of a 32-inch LED television went to Abdul from Dhaka. The fourth prize, a microwave oven, was awarded to Sharmin, who is also from Chattogram. Following the draw, organizers contacted the winners via telephone to inform them of their success. The prizes are scheduled to be handed over to the winners in the near future.
The winning coupons were selected by former Bangladesh national football team captain Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Chunnu. Other notable attendees at the event included former national team captain Mamunul Islam, Prothom Alo chief sports editor Utpal Shuvro, sports department special correspondent Masud Alam, Prothom Alo general manager (circulation-sales) Arup Kumar Ghosh, and general manager and head of marketing Md. Ajwaj Khan.
