According to police, the accident was triggered when a covered van abruptly attempted to pull over to the side of the highway without signaling. A following truck, unable to brake in time, slammed into the back of the stationary vehicle, causing significant damage to both. Moments later, a third covered van traveling at high speed collided with the rear of the already wrecked truck, compounding the wreckage.

Local residents rushed the three injured men to the Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex, where medical personnel pronounced Siyam dead. The two surviving victims were subsequently transferred to Comilla Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
