The perpetrators intercepted Islam outside his home, inflicting severe knife wounds to his left cheek, shoulder, and left arm before fleeing the scene. Jewel Rana, Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for the Mohammadpur zone, confirmed the incident and indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the attack was motivated by political rivalry.
