Six more children die from Hames symptoms, three in Dhaka

At least six children have died from suspected measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the 24 hours leading up to Monday morning, the Directorate General of Health Services reported. None of the deceased children had confirmed measles diagnoses.

During the same period, 1,341 additional children nationwide exhibited symptoms consistent with measles. The deaths occurred in Dhaka, where three children succumbed to the illness, with two recorded in Chittagong and one in Mymensingh.

This latest toll brings the total number of child deaths attributed to suspected measles symptoms to 350 since March 15. An additional 65 children have died after testing positive for measles, bringing the total fatalities to 415.

According to health directorate data, approximately 50,500 children have presented with measles symptoms since March 15. Of these, 35,980 were admitted to hospitals. A significant number, 31,992, have since recovered and been discharged.

The directorate also confirmed that 6,937 children have been diagnosed with measles nationwide during the same period.
