Two dead after motorcycle collision with bus on Faridpur expressway

Two young men were killed in a road accident on Thursday morning after their motorcycle was struck by a passenger bus at the Bhanga roundabout intersection on the expressway in Faridpur.
The victims have been identified as 17-year-old Kawsar Ahmed, a resident of Jandi village, and 20-year-old Raju Matubbar, a resident of Shukurbati village. Kawsar, the son of Malaysia-based expatriate Shahadat Ahmed, was operating the motorcycle, while Raju was the son of local grocer Khokon Matubbar.
According to highway police, the pair was traveling toward Bhanga when a Golden Line Paribahan bus, approaching from behind, struck their motorcycle after the riders slowed down at the intersection. The impact left both men critically injured. Local residents and police transported them to the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.
Dr. Sohag Mia, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, stated that the victims were brought to the facility at approximately 11:30 a.m. Due to the severity of their injuries, medical staff recommended transferring both patients to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. Kawsar succumbed to his injuries while preparations for his transfer were underway.
Raju Matubbar died while being transported to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. According to Sergeant Azadur Rahman of the Bhanga Highway Police Station, Raju passed away shortly after the ambulance crossed the Padma Bridge.
Family acquaintances noted that Kawsar had recently pressured his family to purchase a new motorcycle, having only acquired the blue vehicle three days prior to the accident. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to identify and apprehend the driver of the Golden Line Paribahan bus.
