Man stabbed to death in Chittagong over mobile phone dispute

A 28-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the Mohra area of Chattogram’s Chandgaon district on Thursday night. The victim, identified as Mohammad Sakib, was attacked while traveling home by rickshaw at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Sakib was a resident of the Saleh Ahmed Chowdhury house in the Char Rangamatia area of Chandgaon. According to police and eyewitness accounts, the victim was intercepted by several acquaintances during his commute. Following the assault, he was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where attending physicians declared him dead.

Jasim Uddin, the officer-in-charge of Chandgaon Police Station, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the killing stemmed from a prior dispute over a mobile phone. Police are currently processing a formal case regarding the incident and have launched a manhunt to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the attack.
