New Ministers and State Ministers Assigned Portfolios Following Cabinet Reshuffle

The newly appointed cabinet members have been assigned their respective portfolios, while a reshuffle has been implemented within the existing administration. The appointments follow a formal swearing-in ceremony held at Bangabhaban on Friday evening, where President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir administered the oaths of office.

Abdul Moyeen Khan has been appointed Minister of Local Government, filling the vacancy created following Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s transition to the presidency. Rashiduzzaman Millat, who previously served as the State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, has been elevated to the rank of full Minister for the same department. Consequently, the former Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister, Afroza Khanam Rita, has been reassigned as the Minister of Food.

Saching Pru Jerry, a lawmaker representing Bandarban, has been named the Minister of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. This portfolio was previously held by Dipen Dewan, who resigned three months into the term, with State Minister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin currently managing the ministry’s affairs.

Andalib Rahman Partho, chairman of the BJP, has been appointed Minister of Information and Broadcasting. Jahir Uddin Swapan, who previously headed the Ministry of Information, has been transitioned to the role of Advisor to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Among the new state ministers, Mohammad Shamim Kaiser (Lincoln) has been assigned to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, where he will serve alongside Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaykobad). Humayun Kabir has been appointed State Minister for Foreign Affairs. He will serve alongside the incumbent State Minister Shama Obaed Islam, under the leadership of Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman.

Cabinet Division officials confirmed that the distribution of portfolios is final, with an official gazette notification expected to be issued shortly.
