Tim David was punished for breaking the code of conduct

Australian all-rounder Tim David has been fined for violating the Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer was fined 25 per cent of his match fee and given one demerit point for a Level-1 offence.
The incident took place in the match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (April 12). David was found to have breached Article 2.4 of the IPL, which mainly related to disobeying the umpire’s instructions.
The first incident occurred in the 18th over of the innings. He did not immediately return the ball after the umpires changed it; Instead, while testing the new ball, he threw it into the sky.
Then he behaved in the same way in the last over, i.e. again ignored the umpire’s instructions. As a result it is considered a repeat offence.
David admitted his mistake and accepted the penalty awarded by the match referee, so no separate hearing was necessary.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has also been punished. He was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining slow over rates. As this was his team’s first offense of the season, the normal penalty was given as per rules.
