Sujan to boycott BCB elections

Former all-rounder Khaled Mahmud Sujon has announced he will not contest the upcoming Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections. Sujon, who was speaking to reporters at an event in Bogura on Saturday, stated he has no intention or plan to run for a position in the election.
While ruling out his participation as a candidate, Sujon expressed his eagerness to continue working with the BCB in a professional coaching capacity. He indicated he would consider any opportunity to contribute to coaching or the overall development of cricket in Bangladesh. Furthermore, he remains open to taking on other cricket-related responsibilities should the board deem him suitable.
Sujon recently held extensive discussions with Tamim Iqbal, the president of the BCB’s ad-hoc committee, regarding the future development of the sport in the country. Their conversation focused on the current state of Bangladesh cricket, future strategies, and plans for infrastructure enhancement.
During these discussions, Sujon not only listened to Iqbal’s proposals but also shared his own perspectives. He reiterated his decision not to participate in the elections, a stance he had communicated to Iqbal earlier.
The National Sports Council recently dissolved the existing board led by Aminul Islam Bulbul and established a new 11-member ad-hoc committee, with Tamim Iqbal appointed as its president. Upon taking charge, Iqbal outlined plans to hold the BCB’s general elections by June.
