Pirojpur Woman Seeks Financial Aid for Critical Spine Surgery in India
Twenty-five-year-old Gargi Chatterjee Kotha, a resident of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila, is battling advanced-stage ankylosing spondylitis, a severe inflammatory arthritis that has severely impacted her mobility and health.
Her prolonged medical battle has already exhausted her family's financial resources, with treatment costs exceeding 3.5 million BDT. With her father having passed away in 2018, she currently lives with her mother and husband, who are now struggling to cope with the mounting financial crisis.
Medical professionals have recommended a critical hip joint replacement surgery at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, India, to treat her deteriorating condition. However, the advanced procedure and subsequent medical care require an estimated additional fund of 4 million BDT. Having depleted their savings over years of medical expenditures, the family has been left entirely destitute and unable to afford the necessary overseas treatment.
In light of this dire situation, Gargi Chatterjee and her grieving family have issued an earnest appeal to financially capable individuals, philanthropic organizations, and compassionate citizens across the country to extend a helping hand.
