Toddler Recovered Dead From Aunt Room in Bandarban Arrest Made
Police recovered the body of a child from the mother-in-law's room in Bandarban. The incident took place at Maidar Mill area near Sualak Bazar of Sualak Union of Sadar Upazila at around three o'clock on Monday.
The name of the child whose body was recovered is Taifa Sultana (3). She is the daughter of Ilyas Khan of that area. The police have arrested his mother-in-law Nargis Sultana (49) in this incident. The police informed this information in a press release at around 10 pm yesterday.
According to the police, the child Taifa was missing since yesterday morning. Not finding it, his father Ilyas Khan went to the police station to make a general diary (GD). Ilyas Khan's house had CCTV cameras. Later, the police analyzed the CCTV footage and found that Nargis Sulatana was taking the baby Taifa to her room. Then Nargis Sultana's room was searched and Taifa's body was found in a box. Later he was arrested by the police.
According to the police in the press release, during the initial interrogation, Nargis Sultana confessed to strangling her niece. However, he did not say why he was killed.
A member of the deceased child's family, who did not want to be named, said that Nargis Sultana lived in the same house with her brother Ilyas Khan after separating from her husband. They are all shocked by the murder of their niece. They believe that this incident was caused due to a personal conflict with the brother's wife. But Nargis does not say anything about the murder.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bandarban Sadar Police Station. Masud Parvez said, after looking at the CCTV footage, after searching Nargis Sultana's room, the body of baby Taifa Sultana was found in a box. His body has been sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. And Nargis Sultana has been arrested in the murder case.
