Walton Begins Exporting Locally Produced Motherboards to United States Market

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has officially commenced the export of locally manufactured, world-class Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) to the United States. The milestone shipment marks a significant advancement for Bangladesh’s high-tech manufacturing sector, signaling the company’s transition from meeting domestic demand to competing in the sophisticated global electronics market.

The export shipment was inaugurated on Thursday at the company’s headquarters in Gazipur by State Minister for Information and Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam and Rehan Asif Asad, the Prime Minister’s advisor on ICT affairs. Other notable attendees included Member of Parliament Md. Mujibur Rahman, along with Walton Hi-Tech Industries Managing Director S.M. Mahbubul Alam and directors S.M. Nurul Alam Rezvi and S.M. Manjurul Alam.

During the event, Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam lauded the company for demonstrating that Bangladesh is capable of producing advanced, high-quality technology products that meet international standards. He emphasized that the nation takes immense pride in Walton’s ability to secure a foothold in global markets, including the United States.

Addressing the broader economic landscape, the minister stated that the government is actively refining the national tax framework to foster industrial growth. He noted that efforts are underway to provide tax exemptions for locally manufactured products in the 2026-27 fiscal budget, reflecting a strategic commitment to incentivizing domestic manufacturing and enhancing the global competitiveness of Bangladeshi goods.

Following the inauguration, the visiting delegation viewed a documentary highlighting the company’s technological evolution. The guests also conducted a comprehensive tour of the industrial complex, inspecting the product display center and specialized production units, including the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) motherboards facility, television panel clean rooms, and PCBA assembly lines.
