Two Killed in Motorcycle-Pickup Collision in Noakhali

Two young men were killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Noakhali’s Kabirhat upazila on Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the Baripukurpar area along the Sonapur-Kabirhat-Companyganj road.

The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Jihad Hossain, a resident of Karalia village, and 16-year-old Tareq Rahman, also known as Shiblue, from Basurhat municipality. According to local police and witnesses, the two victims were traveling by motorcycle from Sonapur toward Basurhat when they collided with the oncoming pickup truck. The force of the impact destroyed the motorcycle and threw both riders onto the road, killing them instantly.

Following the crash, local residents managed to intercept the pickup truck, though the driver and his assistant fled the scene. Kabirhat police station officers arrived shortly after to recover the bodies and seize both the damaged motorcycle and the pickup truck.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Nizam Uddin confirmed the fatalities, noting that the victims were identified by their families at the police station. Authorities are currently reviewing the incident and intend to pursue further legal action based on formal complaints filed by the families of the deceased.
