The young man swallowed Yaba pills to escape from the police

A young man fell ill after swallowing Yaba pills to protect himself from the police in Madaripur. He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition on Thursday afternoon for advanced treatment.
The name of the young man is Sohag Fakir (36). He is a resident of Paschim Rasti village of Sadar Upazila. Earlier on Wednesday night, Police Intelligence Department (DB) arrested Sohag in Purba Rasti area of Sadar Upazila. At this time, 19 Yaba pills were recovered from him.
According to DB Police, hospital and local sources, members of DB Police went to Purba Rasti area of Sadar Upazila on Wednesday night to recover narcotics. Sohag Fakir of Paschim Rasti village was arrested near a sawmill there. At that time, Sohag tore a packet with him and swallowed 31 yaba pills. Later, 19 more Yaba pills were recovered from various parts of his body. He fell ill after swallowing the yaba pill. First he was taken to Madaripur 250 bed district hospital. Later the situation worsened. This morning he was taken to the National Institute of Mental Health in Dhaka for advanced treatment. From there he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment there.

Madaripur District DB Inspector (OC) Mohammad Abu Naim told Prothom Alo that a case has been registered against the detained person under the Narcotics Control Act at Sadar Model Police Station. He was sent to Dhaka Medical for advanced treatment. He basically swallowed Yaba pills to avoid fear and arrest by the police. Swallowing too much yaba has caused adverse reactions in his body. He has been treated by the police.
