The robbers took away a person who had been shot in Baghay Padma

The firing incident took place at the padma river in Rajshahi’s Bagh. The robbers took a shot dead man away in a boat. The father of the abducted person filed a case in Bagha police station as the plaintiff. Even after 20 hours of the incident, the missing person could not be recovered.

The missing person is Swapan Bepari (40). His father’s name is Siddique Bepari. The house is in Kalidaskhali village of Chakrajapur union of Bagha upazila. The police seized the sandals of the missing Swapan dealer and the blood-stained soil from the spot.

In this incident, Siddique Bepari filed a case at Bagha police station on Tuesday afternoon as the plaintiff. Rajshahi district police spokesperson Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police Sabina Yasmin confirmed the matter.

Swapan was not found even after raiding Padma’s forage all day. Bagha police station inspector Prabhat Mandal said around 8 pm on Tuesday, about 20 hours have passed since the incident. No trace of the missing Swapan dealer has been found.

According to local sources and the police, a group of armed robbers of 10 to 15 people came to Padmar Char area with a trawler late on Monday night. When they entered the Kalidaskhali Char, the Swapan shopkeeper flashed his flashlight and the dacoit gang members got angry and fired at him. Hearing the screams of the injured Swapan trader, neighbor Ziaul Haque came forward but the robbers fired at him. Ziaul narrowly escaped with his life but suffered a minor injury to his hand. The robbers dragged the shot dead Swapan trader into the boat. His blood was stained on the ground.

Siddique Bepari said, ’15-16 robbers came in two trawlers in the dark of night. They started firing indiscriminately. At one point my son shot Swapan and took him away. Since then, there is no trace of him.

Former local UP member Shahidul Islam said that activities of bandits are often seen in this area centered around Balurghat of Padma. But in the latest incident there is panic in the area.
