Two brothers drowned while playing football

Two madrasa student brothers died after drowning in the water of a pond in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon while playing football. The incident took place in the pond of Mahbub Khan’s house in Rayertek village of Kanchpur union of the upazila at 11 o’clock on Friday.

The two deceased brothers are Adnan (10) and Abraham (7), sons of Ziaur Rahman of Pirojpur area of ​​Meherpur upazila in Kushtia. They had been living as tenants in Nizam Khan’s house of Khan Bari in Kanchpur Rayertek village of Sonargaon upazila for about four years.

Narayanganj District Additional Superintendent of Police (K-Circle) Imran Ahmed confirmed the matter.

According to police and local sources, two brothers Adnan and Abraham went to play football at the pond of Khan house next to the house around 10:30 on Friday morning. Suddenly the ball falls into the pond on the side of the field. Later, both of them drowned in the water while picking up the football from the pond. The family members were disoriented as they could not find them. Later, the local residents recovered the bodies of their two brothers from the pond.

Eyewitness Roni Hossain said that the two brothers were playing with balls on the bank of the pond. Suddenly they were no longer there. After seeing a woman crying, they went down to the pond and started searching. At this time, two children were rescued from the pond one by one. Later, the locals took them to a local hospital where the doctor on duty declared them dead.

Meanwhile, the tragic death of two brothers by drowning in the water of the pond cast a shadow of mourning on their families and surrounding areas.

Deceased Adnan and Abraham used to study in Kanchpur Puran Bazar Abdullah Ibn Masud in a Madrasah. Their father Ziaur Rahman earns his living by working in Siddhirganj EPZ.

Ziaur Rahman said that his two sons drowned in the pond while playing football. Their dead bodies will be taken to Pirojpur area of ​​Meherpur upazila of Bari Kushtia and buried.
