The murderer was caught with the papers of the case and his own pages in the pocket of the unidentified body

A headless body of a young man was lying in a paddy field in Munshiganj Sadar Upazila. None of the nearby residents could give any information about the unidentified young man. But a paper in his pocket raises many questions. It was a case paper filed in Natore’s court.
It took six months for investigators to find the answer to the question of whether the paper in the case belonged to the victim, a clue left by the killer, or a trap.
The police started the investigation with the case papers. The case was filed just eight days before the murder. According to the case papers, the plaintiff’s residence is in Natore. However, the houses of those who have been accused in the case are near the scene of the incident. That is, Munshiganj headquarters. But none of them are involved in this murder. The person found as the killer is a resident of Munshiganj. However, the murdered youth had no dispute with him. Apart from this, the documents proved that he was staying in India at the time of the incident. But the investigation revealed that the person named Shafi Kazi had planned the murder to trap the opponent from the land dispute.
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) revealed this sensational information about the killing of the young man. PBI chief and additional inspector general Mustafa Kamal told Prothom Alo that according to the passport and immigration information of the accused, he was staying in India at the time of the incident. Investigation revealed that he had crossed the border illegally into the country, committed the murders and returned to India on the same route. About a month later, he entered Bangladesh legally. As a result, it is possible to identify real criminals by analyzing not only documentary evidence, but also other evidence.
The murder happened on November 3, 2017. The next day on November 4 morning, the police recovered the body from the field of Nuru Molla in Shilai village of Munshiganj Sadar Upazila. The deceased youth (22 years) was disabled. For about two years he was roaming around Munshiganj area as a vagabond.
Police could not solve the mystery after investigating this case for six months. Due to lack of progress in the investigation, the investigation of the case was handed over to the PBI on May 15, 2018. From there, the tangle started to unravel slowly. The book published last January by the PBI headquarters under the title ‘Investigation of Unidentified Unidentified Body and Clueless Murder Case’, revealed the details of the mystery of this murder.
The investigation of this murder started with the case papers in the pocket of the dead body. The investigating officers went to Natore and found no existence of the plaintiff in the case. The investigators interrogated those whose names were mentioned as accused in the paper. Even then, no identification of the headless body is found.
Now the accused were asked whether they have any adversary in Natore or not. They said, they have no opponent in Natore. However, they have disputes over land locally. They gave information about some people at this time. A technical investigation begins by collecting the mobile numbers of those who give information. It appears that at the time of the filing of the case at Natore, one of the persons on this list was located there. He is Shafi Kazi. His house is in Munshiganj Sadar Upazila.
After that Shafi Kazi was interrogated by the investigators. Shafi Kazi claimed that he was in India at the time of the incident. At that time he also presented documents in favor of his stay in India. But the technical investigation showed that Shafi Kazi’s mobile phone was located at two places during both the incidents of filing the case in Natore court and killing the youth in Munshiganj.
This time the investigators started searching more closely. It turns out that a person named Lalu Kasai of Panchbibi area of Jaipurhat is in contact with Shafi Kazi. This time, this black butcher was taken into custody and questioned. At one point, he said, he helped Shafi Kazi to cross the Indian border illegally. After this information, Shafi Kazi was detained and questioned, and the mystery of the headless youth’s murder came out.
Shafi Kazi broke down after one after another information came to light. He gave the details of the whole incident to the investigators. He said that before the incident, Shafi Kazi had legally traveled to India through Jessore’s Heli. After a few days, with the help of Kasai Kalu, Jaipurhat came illegally through the border and filed a case in Natore court. However, he did not mention his name and identity as the plaintiff in that case. Gives the name of a resident of Natore, who does not exist. Then he secretly came to Munshiganj and killed the young man and put the case papers in his pocket. After that, he went to India illegally through the Jaipurhat border. After a month he came to the country legally. That is, although the document mentions his location in India, he actually entered the country and filed a false case and carried out the murder mission. Basically, he planned this terrible murder to trap his opponent from a land dispute.
According to PBI sources, in 2018, a charge sheet was submitted to the court accusing Shafi Kazi and his associate Kalu Kasai in this case. The case is still pending in Munshiganj court.
A PBI investigation revealed that Shafi Kazi was enraged when a piece of land in his possession was expropriated. He systematically kills an innocent vagabond to reclaim that land and harass his opponents. Later, he filed a false case against them in another district to frame the opponent as a suspected accused. Photocopies of the case documents were stuffed in the pocket of the three-quarter pants worn by the slain youth to show their involvement in the murder.
