Former Chairman of Pinjuri Union Parishad of Kotalipara in Gopalganj, Abu Said Shikder has sold more than a hundred fruits and forest trees from the government embankment. Sunday (April 12) went to the embankment of Deopura village of Pinjuri Union of the upazila and found the truth of the sale of trees.

Sujan Fakir of Pukuria area of ​​Gopalganj Sadar who bought the trees said, I bought these trees from the former chairman of Pinjuri Union Abu Said Shikder. Now the trees have been cut and placed on the embankment to be carried away.

Abu Saeed said in this regard, the embankment has passed over my place. The money for the land acquired for this embankment has not been collected yet. I planted the trees, so I sold them.

Mohammad Anis Haider Khan, executive engineer of Gopalganj Water Development Board, said that as soon as the matter was known, people were sent to the place and the equipment for cutting trees was seized. Information of those involved in felling of trees has been collected. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
