A BRAC worker and his four-year-old daughter were killed in a road accident on their way back to their family home during the Eid holiday. His wife was seriously injured in the incident.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway near Banani Tourism Motel in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogra on Monday around seven o’clock in the morning.

The deceased persons are Anisur Rahman (35), an employee of Mahiganj branch of Rangpur metropolis of BRAC and his four-year-old daughter Ayesha. Anisur Rahman’s house is in Gopalpur village of Sujanagar upazila in Pabna. Anisur Rahman’s wife Pushpa Khatun (25) was rescued and admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Police and eyewitnesses said that Anisur Rahman left for his home in Pabna village on a motorcycle from Rangpur this morning with his wife and children. On reaching Banani area of ​​Bogra around seven in the morning, a car hit the motorcycle from behind. Losing control, Anisur Rahman, his wife and children fell on the road. Anisur and his daughter Ayesha died on the spot. Later local people rescued the seriously injured Pushpa Khatun and admitted her to the hospital.

Ashiq Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Shajahanpur police station, said that Anisur Rahman met with an accident on his way home with his family members on a motorcycle during the Eid holidays. His wife is in critical condition in hospital. Police said that the process of handing over the bodies of the two victims to their families is underway.
