The body of the housewife was hanging from the electric fan in Anwara

Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife in Chittagong’s Anwara. The body was recovered from Bocha Talukdarbari in South Bandar area of Ward No. 3 of Bairag Union of Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The recovered body is that of housewife Lili Akhtar (29). She is the daughter of Kamal Uddin Shah of Shahbari in Guapanchak area of Bairag Union of Anwara Upazila. Mohiuddin Jahangir, a resident of the same union, got married with Lily in 2017. They have an eight-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.
According to the sources of local residents, Lily Akhtar’s body was hanging in her bedroom with a rope tied around her neck with an electric fan in the morning. The family members informed the police after seeing the body. After noon, the police went to the spot and recovered the body.
In-laws claim that Lily Akhtar committed suicide. However, Lily’s family members claim that after she was strangled, her body was hung with an electric fan. Mohiuddin Jahangir, the husband of the deceased cave bride, said, “I was on the second floor of the house. In the morning I went down and saw Lily’s body hanging from the fan.
Lily Akhtar’s brother Nizam Uddin Shah said, ‘My sister is being killed and called suicide. This is not suicide. He was tortured to death. We want justice for those involved in this incident.
Karnaphuli Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Shahinur Alam said that the body is being sent to the morgue for post-mortem after the completion of the report. After getting the autopsy report, it can be confirmed whether it is murder or suicide.
