Tarun in jail in Uttara school girl abduction case

The court has sent Lamin Islam (19), arrested in the case of abducting a class 10 schoolgirl from her father’s presence in Uttara of the capital, to jail. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dilruba Afroz Tithi gave this order after a one-day remand.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Dhaka Metropolitan Prosecution Department Tahmina Akter confirmed this information to Prothom Alo.

According to court sources, after a day’s remand, Lamin Islam was produced in the court today and requested to be detained in jail, the investigation officer of the case Uttara Purba police station SI Fariduzzaman. On the other hand, lawyer Shahidul Islam for the accused held a hearing seeking bail. Bail was opposed by the state. After hearing both sides, the court denied bail and ordered him to be sent to jail.

Earlier on May 1, police arrested the main accused Lamin Islam from Pubail area of ​​Gazipur. At the same time, the abducted student was rescued. On Monday, the court granted Lamin’s one-day remand. Arrested at Lamin’s house in Ulukhola area of ​​Kaliganj, Gazipur.

According to the case documents, the victim student was in class 10 in a school in Uttara. On April 22, Lamin Islam and his associates forcibly took him to a private car after reaching sector 6 of Uttara on his way back home. In this incident, the student’s father filed a case at the Uttara Purba police station as a plaintiff.
