Skill-based learning puts students ahead of memorization in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). Therefore, English medium schools in the country are prioritizing debating, sports and leadership qualities along with textbooks and academic results to improve skills.

The speakers said the words in the question and answer session of an open discussion on Saturday. A discussion on ‘English Medium School Admission Fair 2026’ was organized at Gulshan Shooting Club in the capital.

In today’s open question and answer session, Syed Fahim Faisal, Account Manager (Schools) of the Business Development Department of the British Council said that English medium school students in the country study with very specific goals. They are quite aware of their career goals. The British Council and other partner organizations give full support to the students in this journey.

Parents participating in the question and answer session wanted to know how well English-medium schools actually follow the British curriculum. In response, Syed Fahim Faisal said that the English medium schools which are listed by the British Council, teach completely by following the British curriculum. Apart from that, the British Council constantly monitors the quality of education in these schools.

A common characteristic of successful people is that they associate themselves with co-learning activities in corporate life—says professional corporate trainer Golam Samdani Don. According to him, good academic results are not only the key to success, but persistence and problem-solving skills are what make people truly successful.

Golam Samdani said, the country’s English medium schools do this work effectively. Therefore, it is important for parents to prioritize not only education, but institutions that help them develop life-oriented skills and leadership while choosing a school for their children.
