Saral City Corporation waste from gate of Bhawal National Park under criticism

Gazipur City Corporation has finally removed the garbage left in the dark of night in front of the main gate of Bhawal National Park in Gazipur. These wastes were removed with the help of excavators around 1.30 pm on Wednesday.
Confirming the removal of waste, Chief Waste Management Officer of Gazipur City Corporation Sohel Rana told Prothom Alo over the phone that efforts are on to identify who has dumped this waste. He commented, ‘We don’t throw garbage anywhere, we only do removal work. Throwing garbage is not our job.
Earlier this morning, the park authorities found waste in front of the main gate of the park adjacent to the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. As a result, the travel of tourists is disturbed and the environment is polluted with bad smell. Even the entry of vehicles into the park is obstructed in case of emergency.
Bhawal National Park Range Officer Ariful Islam said, “The City Corporation has taken quick action due to the widespread media coverage of the issue. The city corporation people while taking away the waste said that they will investigate who did this. We have a legal and administrative dispute with the city corporation regarding garbage disposal. In this, the fact that there is dirt at the gate of the park is purposeful.
