An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed in Jhenaidah on Friday evening after his vehicle struck a roadside barrier while attempting to evade a police traffic checkpoint. The victim, Arzo Ali, was pronounced dead at the scene near the Smriti Soudha Jame Mosque on Shaheed Mashiur Rahman Road.

Witnesses reported that Ali was one of three people riding a motorcycle traveling from the Hamdah area toward the Chuadanga bus terminal. Upon spotting the police checkpoint, the rider attempted to maneuver the vehicle away from the inspection site. The motorcycle reportedly became entangled in barbed wire, causing the occupants to fall into the path of a passing bus.

Police have seized both the motorcycle and the bus involved in the incident and taken the bus driver into custody for questioning.
