Motorcyclist dies after fall from Narsingdi flyover

A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday evening after losing control of his vehicle and plunging from a flyover in the Monohardi sub-district of Narsingdi.

The victim, identified as Jimel Mia, a resident of Jamalpur village, was traveling across the Hetimdi flyover when the accident occurred. According to local authorities and witnesses, Mia was operating the motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control, causing the bike to collide violently with the flyover’s protective railing. The impact ejected him from the structure, resulting in a fatal fall.

Bystanders immediately rushed the injured man to the Monohardi Upazila Health Complex, but he succumbed to his injuries before arriving. Physicians in the hospital’s emergency department pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Monohardi Police Station officer-in-charge Jahangir Badsha confirmed the details of the incident, attributing the tragedy to excessive speed. Authorities are currently processing the necessary legal procedures regarding the death.
