Man Arrested in Fatal Gang Attack in Manikganj

A 30-year-old man was killed in a targeted, organized attack in Manikganj late Saturday night, highlighting a violent escalation of long-standing local tensions. The victim, Sajib Hossain, was identified as the son of Munsher Ali from the village of North Putail in Manikganj Sadar.
According to police and local sources, the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. while the victim was visiting a residence belonging to one Lutfar Rahman. A mob estimated between 100 and 150 individuals surrounded the property and launched a coordinated assault, using sharp weapons to inflict fatal injuries on Hossain, who died at the scene.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the village early Sunday morning to recover the body. The remains have since been transported to the Manikganj Medical College Hospital morgue to undergo a formal autopsy.
Ikaram Hossain, officer-in-charge of the Sadar police station, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the killing was the result of a pre-existing feud. Authorities are currently working to identify the individuals involved in the attack and are actively pursuing leads to effect arrests.
