Jhalokathi National Citizen Party convener resigns citing personal reasons

Mainul Islam, the convener of the Jhalokathi district unit of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has resigned from his position, citing personal and family reasons. Islam confirmed his departure in a social media post published late Sunday night, stating that he had submitted his formal resignation letter to the party’s central leadership.
The NCP central committee and the local district unit have yet to issue an official statement regarding the resignation. It remains unclear whether the party leadership has formally accepted his request to step down or who may be appointed to lead the district committee in the interim.
Islam was originally tasked with leading the district branch following the formation of an 18-member committee on January 4 of this year. That committee, which included Zubair Hawlader as member secretary, was established to organize the party’s activities in the Jhalokathi region.
