Jabi teacher’s father assaulted for stopping him from taking drugs, one in jail

A court has sent a person to jail in a case related to the attack on the father of a teacher of Jagannath University (JUB) in Keraniganj, Dhaka, for stopping the consumption of drugs.

On Friday, Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Tanveer Ahmed ordered to send accused Ehsanur Haque Mahim (22) to jail. At the same time, the date of the next hearing of the case has been fixed next Sunday. The plaintiff’s lawyer Khalid Hossain confirmed this information.

According to court sources, after the incident, the police arrested the accused Mahim and produced him in the court. Later, after the hearing, the judge ordered him to be sent to prison.

According to the information of the case, the attack took place at Madaripur Road-2 area of ​​Kalindi Union of Keraniganj Model Police Station on Thursday around 7:30 pm.

According to the complaint source, Jagannath University’s associate professor of mass communication and journalism. Accused Mahim had been chatting and consuming drugs in front of Raisul Islam’s house for a long time. He repeatedly threatened the victim’s family members when the matter was denied.

On the day of the incident, teacher Raisul Islam’s father Nazrul Islam (67) forbade him to hang out. Later, when he tried to hit him with an iron rod, it hit him under the eye, causing a bloody injury.

At that time the accused tried to run away when the people around them came forward after hearing the screams. Later, the agitated crowd arrested him and handed him over to the police.

In this incident, the teacher Raisul Islam alleged that the accused took about six thousand taka cash in his father’s pocket.

Raisul complained that when he went to file a case at the police station the day after the incident, the complaint was first taken as a general diary (GD). Later, considering the importance of the matter, the police accepted the case.

Meanwhile, the students of Jagannath University’s Department of Mass Communication and Journalism protested when the accused was taken to the court on Friday. They demanded speedy trial of the attack and exemplary punishment of the accused.
