In Madaripur’s Shivchar, a school student was beaten with a rod and seriously injured by his classmates after stealing pickles from a bag. The incident took place in front of Rupsi Bangla Market of Panchchar Bus Stand of Shibchar Upazila on Wednesday evening.
The name of the injured student is Zubair Ahmed (16). Jubair is a 10th class student of Panchchar High School. Accused Shamim Hossain is also a class 10 student of the same school.

The police and relatives said that pickles were stolen from the schoolbag of a friend of Zubair a week ago. Zubair suspects Shamim in this incident and wants to know about it. In view of this, on that day Shamim and Zubair quarreled and fought. Due to this, it was alleged that Shamim suddenly attacked Zubair with a group yesterday evening. Zubair was seriously injured when he was hit on the head with an iron rod. Later, the assailants fled when the people around them came forward on the screams of the injured student. Later he was admitted to Shivchar Upazila Health Complex.
Zubair’s mother Lucky Begum said, “My son was beaten and seriously injured due to a small incident. They beat my son with rods. I want justice for this.

Regarding the complaint, Shamim Hossain said, “I was beaten by Zubair before.” None of us beat him with a rod. False allegations are being made in my name.
Munjul Morshed, Inspector (Investigation) of Shibchar Police Station, said that after receiving the information, the police visited the incident site and the hospital. In this incident, the mother of the injured student filed a written complaint at the police station. Necessary legal action will be taken after investigation.
