Kishore autorickshaw driver in Raipur upazila of Lakshmipur. The main accused Ghiyas Uddin has been arrested by the police in the case of murder of Rajiv (14). He was arrested from the wireless area of Chandpur Sadar on Monday night. At the same time, the police also brought a pet monkey with him to the police station.
Arrested Gias Uddin is a resident of Char Ababil Union in Raipur. He has been accused of killing autorickshaw driver Rajiv last Friday night by hitting him on the head with a hammer. Rajib’s father was killed in this incident last Saturday night. Mustafa filed a murder case at the police station as a plaintiff. Ghiyas Uddin was made the main accused in the case.

According to the police, Ghiyas Uddin confessed to killing Rajiv during the initial interrogation. He hired Rajib’s auto-rickshaw on Friday night and went to consume drugs in a secluded place. Ghiyas Uddin tried to steal Rajib’s autorickshaw there. When Rajiv prevented it, he was killed by a hammer on his head. The police recovered Rajib’s body from a garden on the west side of Hat School of Char Ababil Union camp on Saturday afternoon.
Raipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaheen Mia said that after killing Rajib, Geas tried to sell the auto-rickshaw after leaving his body in the garden and taking it to Hyderganj market. However, as he could not sell it, he left it in a nearby house and ran away.

OC said, ‘Giyas Uddin had a pet monkey. After the incident, he ran away from home with the monkey named “Raj”. He was arrested along with the pet monkey. The monkey is currently in police custody. It will be handed over to the forest department.
Meanwhile, after the monkey was brought to the police station at night, curious people gathered to see it. The monkey started running inside the police station. Policemen are also seen struggling to handle the monkey.
