Farina Samhi Nithi to Debut Solo Art Exhibition Silent Expressions in Dhaka

Artist Farina Samhi Nithi is set to debut her first solo exhibition, “Silent Expressions,” on August 1 at the Batighar Art Space in Dhaka’s Banani district. The exhibition, organized by the Mangoldip Foundation—a non-profit dedicated to social development through arts and culture—aims to highlight the profound intersection of non-verbal communication and visual artistry.

The opening ceremony, scheduled for 4:00 p.m., will feature Rubaba Dowla, Country Managing Director of Oracle Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, as the chief guest. Distinguished actor and artist Afzal Hossain, alongside Gallery Chitrak Executive Director Md. Moniruzzaman, will attend as special guests. The event is presented in collaboration with Vertex Chambers and the Sajeda Foundation.

The collection showcases a curated selection of acrylic paintings that embody Farina’s philosophy that color, form, and shape can communicate concepts that words often fail to capture. This conceptual focus serves as the inspiration behind the exhibition’s title, reflecting the artist’s unique perspective on human expression.

Farina, who is hearing-impaired, has spent years refining her craft through various workshops and collaborative projects. Her portfolio includes notable appearances at international forums, including an international group exhibition hosted by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Kolkata in 2017 and a commemorative exhibition in 2023 marking the 101st birth anniversary of renowned artist Safiuddin Ahmed.

The exhibition will remain open to the public daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will conclude on August 10.
