Dhaka City Corporations Accelerate Waste Removal Efforts

Dhaka’s two city corporations have committed to clearing sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours of the Eid-ul-Adha prayers, pledging to finish the massive cleanup operation well ahead of the government-mandated deadline.
The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has mobilized a workforce of 16,890 personnel supported by 752 specialized vehicles to manage the refuse. Operations are scheduled to commence in Mirpur at 2:00 p.m., with officials expressing confidence in their ability to maintain sanitation standards throughout the city.
Simultaneously, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) is deploying a team of 13,453 workers equipped with 2,117 vehicles. Aiming for an even tighter turnaround, the DSCC intends to launch its efforts at 1:30 p.m. in the Kalabagan area, setting an ambitious target to complete the removal of the first day’s waste within eight hours.
