Bogra maintains top position in Rajshahi Education Board SSC results despite slight decline in performance metrics

Bogura district has once again secured the top position within the Rajshahi Education Board in both pass rates and the number of GPA-5 achievers in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. Despite maintaining its leading status, the district witnessed a decline in both performance metrics compared to the previous year.
Out of a total of 16,113 students who achieved GPA-5 under the Rajshahi Education Board this year, 4,478 were from Bogura, accounting for approximately 28 percent of the board’s top-tier achievers. Rajshahi district followed in second place with 2,949 GPA-5 recipients, while Pabna placed third with 1,970. In comparison, the board recorded a higher total of 22,327 GPA-5 holders in the previous year, with Bogura contributing 5,900.
Bogura also led the board in pass rates, recording 72.64 percent, compared to the Rajshahi Education Board’s overall average of 63.67 percent. Joypurhat district secured the second position with a pass rate of 67.53 percent, followed by Chapainawabganj at 65.13 percent. Across the board, 112,086 students passed out of 178,952 total examinees. In Bogura, 23,349 students passed out of 32,192 who sat for the examinations.
Among individual institutions, BIAM Model School and College emerged as the top performer in Bogura. All 436 students from the institution passed the exam, with 343 achieving GPA-5, representing an achievement rate of 78.37 percent. Principal Mostafizur Rahman attributed this success to consistent classroom instruction, the diligence of students and teachers, and the supportive role of parents. He stated that the institution set a record for the highest number of GPA-5 recipients under the Rajshahi Education Board this year.
Other notable institutions in Bogura also maintained strong performance, though some experienced minor declines from previous records. Bogura Zila School saw 223 out of 224 students pass, with 175 achieving GPA-5, down from the previous year’s perfect pass rate and 217 GPA-5 holders. Similarly, Bogura Government Girls’ High School recorded 216 passes out of 218 candidates, with 184 achieving GPA-5, compared to 237 GPA-5 achievers last year.
Meanwhile, other institutions continued their strong academic trends. Armed Police Public School and College achieved a 100 percent pass rate with 276 out of 357 students receiving GPA-5. Bogura Cantonment Public School and College also maintained a 100 percent pass rate, with 324 out of 418 students achieving GPA-5. Additionally, the Rural Development Academy Laboratory School and College and SOS Hermann Gmeiner College both demonstrated robust results, with the latter achieving a perfect pass rate among its 61 candidates.
Rajshahi Education Board Examination Controller Professor Iffat Zerin confirmed that Bogura district leads the board in both pass rates and GPA-5 tallies. However, she noted that further assessment is required to definitively confirm which individual school within the board’s jurisdiction secured the highest number of GPA-5s across its more than 2,000 affiliated institutions.
