Benefits of ‘Krishak Card’ including cash

Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid said that all the farmers of the country will come under the ‘Krishak Card’ in the next four years. In the first phase, 22 thousand 65 farmers will get the card.
The Minister gave this information in a press conference organized in the conference room of the Directorate of Information at the Secretariat on Sunday. He said, it has been informed that the Prime Minister will auspiciously inaugurate the program at Shahid Maruf Stadium in Tangail.
The agriculture minister said that small, marginal and medium farmers in 11 upazilas of 10 districts of 8 divisions will get Tk 2500 per year as a pilot project of farmer card. Apart from this, 10 other benefits will be available through this card. There will be no politicization of the Krishak Card. That is why all the farmers of the country have been brought under it.
He said that Prime Minister Tariq Rahman will inaugurate the farmer card from the Tangail stadium on the first day of Boishakh. Farmer cards will be inaugurated on that day in 11 upazilas together as a pilot project.
Agriculture Minister said that 22 thousand 65 farmers will be given 2500 taka initially. It includes all landless, marginal, small, medium and large farmers including farmers, fisherfolk/exploiters, livestock farmers and dairy farmers.
The minister said that even if there is a shortage of energy, there will be no problem in agricultural irrigation throughout the country. The District Commissioners have been instructed to ensure that the farmers get enough oil. There are instructions to be careful that there is no problem in agriculture irrigation due to energy crisis.
10. Facilitation of sale of agricultural produce at fair price.
In the pre-pilot phase, Kamalapur block of Sadar upazila of Panchagarh district, Uthli block of Shibganj upazila of Bogra district, Kripalpur block of Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah district, Rajabari block of Nesharabad upazila of Pirojpur district, Rajarchhara block of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district, Aranapur block of Adarsh Sadar upazila of Comilla district, Suruj block of Tangail Sadar upazila of Tangail district, Farmer cards will be given in Tenapcha block of Goaland upazila, Fultala block of Juri upazila of Moulvibazar district, Panchpir block of Boda upazila of Panchagarh district and Gaibandha block of Islampur upazila of Jamalpur district.
