Banned Awami League Stages Torch Procession in Banshkhali Amid Security Concerns

Members of the banned Awami League party staged a torchlight procession in Banshkhali, Chittagong, according to videos circulating on social media. Party activists claimed the event took place on Wednesday night.
The video footage, which spans three minutes and 53 seconds, shows approximately 50 to 60 individuals marching while carrying torches and chanting slogans. The recording concludes with several participants delivering speeches.
Investigations indicate the procession occurred in the Chunatibazar area of Baharchhara Union within the Banshkhali Upazila. This incident follows a similar demonstration held late Wednesday night by the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League near the Tailardwip Bridge in the same sub-district.
When contacted for comment, Banshkhali Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sudhangshu Shekhar Halder stated he was unaware of the incident and intended to investigate the matter further.
