Baishakh celebration at East West University with various arrangements

Bengali New Year Festival ‘Poyala Baishakh 1433’ was held at East West University campus in Aftabnagar of the capital with a festive atmosphere and colorful arrangements. The day-long event included rallies, cultural programs and traditional Baisakhi fairs.
A colorful rally was organized by East West University Club for Performing Arts (ECPA), a cultural club of university students, earlier on Tuesday. After that, the artists of Chaynat, the country’s elite cultural organization, performed music and drama in the university courtyard. Performance of popular band Chirkut added to the mood of the festival.
ECPA students performed mesmerizing dances and songs in the afternoon program. The festival ended with a performance by the popular band Meghdal.
Apart from this, the traditional ‘Baishakhi Fair’ was held in the university premises throughout the day. Various stalls had local food, traditional clothes, jewelry and cosmetics.
The chairman of the board of trustees of East West University, Professor Dr. participated in organizing the festival. Mohammad Farasuddin, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Ashiq Mosaddiq, Treasurer Air Commodore (Retd) Ishfaq Elahi Chowdhury along with Deans, Heads of Departments, teachers, officers and students of various faculties.
