Another Thai sailor was killed by a sailor

One person was killed in a collision between two Thai sailors on a ship flying the flag of Thailand in the outer anchorage of Chittagong port. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in the ‘MV KPP-01’ ship.
The name of the deceased Thai sailor is Rafifong Klahan (30). He was working as an oiler on the ship.
According to port sources, the two Thai sailors had an argument while on duty in the vessel brought for breaking up at Bhattiari in Sitakunda. At one stage it turned into a conflict. At that time, Rafifong Klahan was seriously injured by a knife used for cooking.
Later the local agent of the ship took him off the ship and took him to a private hospital in Chittagong. He died while undergoing treatment there.
In this incident, the accused Turakarna Burusi was arrested from the ship and taken to Anwara Police Station in coordination with Patenga and Anwara Police Station.
Anwara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zubair Chowdhury told Prothom Alo tonight that they have received information about the death of a sailor from Thailand. Necessary legal action is being taken regarding the incident.
