Critically ill poet Al Mujahidi

Al Mujahidi, the award winning poet, is seriously ill. At present, he is admitted in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the United Hospital in the capital, said Parma, the poet’s daughter.

If he wanted to know, he told Jugantar on Sunday (April 26) evening, “Father’s kidney function stopped, so he could not urinate.” As a result, acid spreads throughout the body. Also the heartbeat becomes very high. There is also a minor heart attack. 

In such a situation, he was admitted to the emergency department of United Hospital of the capital last Thursday evening. As the situation was serious, he was taken to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) from there.

Parma said that due to the spread of acid throughout Kabir’s body, there was also a kind of complication in his mouth. Facial surgery is required. But due to high creatinine, water accumulation in the lungs, old age and other complications, the operation cannot be done. Doctors are currently trying to slow down the heartbeat. Now electric shock therapy is needed. But his heart problem, infection in his body and old age are all complications there. On Monday the doctors will tell what can be done. 

The poet cannot even eat normally. not talking Feeding through a tube.  Kabi Kanya also said that the doctors are still not able to tell whether there will be improvement.

Poet Al Mujahidi was once the literary editor of Daily Ittefaq. He was associated with student politics during his student life. Actively participated in the Great War of Liberation in 1971. 

Poet Al Mujahidi has worked in many disciplines including poetry, novels, translation of children’s literature. He also has many books. Among his poetry books are Hemlock’s Cup, Classical and Terracotta, War Nasti, Soil Ultra-Soil, Prison Van, Didelus and Labyrinth, Eid’s Hamlet, ‎Oriental Earth, Dust of the Earth, Solar Dwarf, ‎Vita Nuova, Garden of Academas, Al Mujahidi’s Best Poems, Al Mujahidi’s Love Poems, Evening Rain, In Kalerbandi, Bird World, Albatross, Fragile Rose, Kando Hiroshima Cry Nagasaki and Palki Chali Dulki Tale are notable. 

Notable novels include Pratham Prem, Chand O Chirkut, Milu et O Sonata, Lal Batir Harin, Rupoli Roddur, Alor Pakhita, Chhuti Khur, Khokar Akash and Khokar War. 

He also has a research book called Kalantar Jatri. Notable children’s literature includes ‘Halum Hulum’, ‘Talpatar Sepai’, ‘Shekel Katte Khachchar Pakhi’, ‘Sonar Mati Rupor Mati’ and ‘Istishanne Whistle’. ‎

Poet Al Mujahidi also has an essay called Society and Sociology. The translated books include ‘Kaifi Ajmi’s Poetry’, ‘Prithibir’s Poetry’, ‘Ahmed Faraz’s Poetry’, ‘Urdu Poetry’, ‘Hindi Poetry’ and ‘Heinrich Heine’s Poetry’. 

In recognition of his life and work, he has received the ‘Jivanananda Das Academy Award’, the ‘Kabi Jasimuddin Academy Award’, the ‘Michael Madhusudan Academy Award’, the ‘Shere Bangla Sangsad Award’, the ‘Jai Bangla Sahitya Award’, the ‘Basasap Kavyaratna Padak’ and the ‘Ekushey Padak’.
