A schoolboy was stabbed to death after arguing over a football game in Bogra

A student named Abdullah Saeem Mustaqeem (15) was killed by stabbing in Sariakandi of Bogra after arguing about a football game. This incident took place in Ghughumari village of the upazila around noon today.

The deceased is the son of deceased Zainal Abedin of Ghughumari village of Chandanbaisha union of Mustakim upazila. He was studying in Class IX at PN High School, Nowkhila.

According to the police and local sources, Mustakim had an argument with Shahadat Hossain, a class 10 student of Nizam Uddin High School, over a foul in a football game two days ago. In that case, the arbitration was held at Ghughumari village around 12 noon today. There Shahadat and his family attacked Mustaqeem. At one point Shahadat struck with a knife. Mustaqim was seriously injured.

Later local people rescued Mustaqeem and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Biman Kumar Saha, head teacher of Nowkhila PN High School, said that the stabbing happened outside the school. He demanded appropriate trial of the people involved in the incident.

Sariakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AP M Asaduzzaman said that the dead student’s body has been sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Efforts are on to arrest the people involved in the incident.
